MOPU (Mobile Offshore Production Unit)
The CDC MOPU is jack-up production vessel for small pools. It can configured as four leg or six leg vessel dimensioned to match type of resevoir hydrocarbon and field production rates.
The MOPU shares common design and construction principles with the well intervention vessel design, allowing both vessel types to pair or dock with each other.

MOPSOU (Mobile Offshore Production Storage Offloading Unit)
When the MOPU is combined with subsea storage mat it becomes the MOPSOU – production and storage solution with subsea storage of up to 170,000 bbls.
The MOPU (production only) or MOPSOU (production with storage) tows into position and installs in around 3 days. It requires little infrastructure. When docked with these multi-activity vessel is ready for well development or completions.
When combined with a modularised production process plant it can produce around 10,000 bbls per day. And because the process plant is modular it comes without the cost of bespoke design, is quick and easy to exchange components, and the reduced cost of offshore repair.
No tie-back connection in locale the MOPU with storage mat can store up to 160,000 bbls.
At the end of field life the MOPSOU tows away, leaving nothing behind and is ready to redeploy. View the general arrangements. (Opens as pdf.)
The MOPU/MOPSOU offer ideal solution for small pools and marginal fields.
The MOPSOU design was recognised as finalist at World Oil Awards 2017, in category ‘Best Production Technology’.
